 2008 Secondary School Scholarship

$2100 to a High School student on entering
a College or University in
the SETC region to major in Theatre.
Eligibility:
Any high school senior in the Southeastern Theatre Conference Region who is planning to attend a
college or university in the SETC region with the intent of majoring in Theatre Arts is eligible
to apply for the SETC Secondary School Scholarship.
The
SETC Secondary School Scholarship Committee will administer
the award:
- A
complimentary one-year student membership in SETC.
- Complimentary convention registration, hotel room for Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and a ticket for the Annual Awards Banquet.
- A
check for the amount of the award upon verification
of enrollment in a college or university after July
1st following the year of the award.
Criteria:
The awarding of the SETC Secondary School Scholarship
is based upon:
- Aptitude
in theatrical practices such as playwriting, design,
stage management, acting, directing, etc.
- The
potential for academic success in college.
Application
Process: Each scholarship application must include
the following:
- An
official transcript, along with verification of
class rank and available SAT or ACT scores from
the high-school guidance counselor or principal.
- Three
completed recommendation
forms, with one being from the nominee's high-school
Principal.
- The
student's completed nominee
resume form.
The application deadline of January 15, 2008 has now passed.
