festivals -> ten-minute play

Thirty undergraduate and graduate SETC members
will have an opportunity to participate as

PLAYWRIGHTS,
DIRECTORS,
STAGE MANAGERS and
ACTORS


in the writing, rehearsing and performing of
five 10-MINUTE PLAYS.

The Festival will begin on Wednesday evening, March 4, 2009, with the Actors performing audition monologues. The Playwrights will then work through the night on 3-character plays inspired by the Actors and the props and costume pieces they have brought to share.

On Thursday morning, the finished scripts will be read by the Directors, each of whom will choose one of the scripts and 3 Actors. They will then be joined by the Stage Managers for day-long rehearsals, culminating in:

THE PUBLIC PERFORMANCE OF ALL 6 PLAYS
ON THURSDAY, MARCH 5th, AT 10 PM
Followed by a critique session.

Playwright, screenwriter, author, teacher, producer, Gary Garrison, shared his expertise with the SETC Annual Spring Convention as the respondent for the Ten-Minute Play Festival 2008.
